Oh, it was glorious! The bats cracked. The cheering wives applauded. The ball was sent soaring for home run after home run. It was a dream come true. After going winless for an entire football and softball season, our own "Soul Patrol" finished third in the season playoffs!
Our class team was formed as a Sunday School class. They refused to recruit former softball champs in an effort to "stack the deck" and Chris, our coach, worked hard to play everyone equally without regard to former playing experience or skill. They played together and they lost together, but between innings they encouraged each other and became friends. In every sense of the word, they became a team.
Gentlemen, you truly stepped up to the plate, and we are proud of you.
